St Thomas More Primary School Mt Eliza

Principal's Welcome

On behalf of the St Thomas More School community, I would like to warmly welcome you to St Thomas More Catholic Primary School, Mt Eliza.

St Thomas More's is a nurturing and welcoming school community, committed to delivering a high-quality education that fosters the full flourishing of every child. Being a mid-sized school enables us to personally know and value each of our students, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to shine. As a Child Safe school, we prioritise the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children. Our pride in our Catholic faith and tradition serves as the foundation for all aspects of school life.

We enjoy a strong sense of community at St Thomas More's and welcome the active involvement of all members of our community in the life of the school. Working together with our parents, we aim to foster confident and enthusiastic learners and resilient and respectful young people who live out the Gospel values in their everyday lives. This close partnership with our families enables us to provide students with a strong sense of belonging and connectedness that is critical for students to thrive.

At St Thomas More's, we understand that positive relationships are at the heart of good teaching. Teachers take time to get to know each child and develop a deep understanding of their unique gifts, talents, personalities and learning needs. This knowledge helps teachers plan differentiated learning programs that meet individual student needs and assist each child to reach their full potential.

Our students enjoy encouraging and challenging learning environments, where we celebrate strengths and promote a growth mindset. Our teaching staff are dedicated to creating a collaborative culture of learning where students learn to problem solve and think critically and creatively. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards in all curriculum areas whilst nurturing the wellbeing of each student.

As Principal, l am passionate about providing our students with exceptional learning opportunities in a safe and supportive learning environment. The dedicated and highly professional staff of St Thomas More’s share this passion and together we look forward to working in partnership with you to support your child on their educational journey.

If you are considering St Thomas More Primary School for your family, I invite you to book in for one of our small group tours, so you can see firsthand what makes St Thomas More’s such a wonderful place for children to learn, work and play.

"Deciding to send your child/ren to St Thomas More is a decision you won't regret. Our experience has been seamless. Transitioning three children in Year Four, Two and Prep, was a daunting decision, but the support provided by the school was excellent. We also participated in the ‘new family buddy program’, which was an invaluable experience and no doubt further supported our transition.

I am thrilled by our decision to send our children to St. Thomas More, and I am confident that they will reach their full potential, academically and emotionally. I mean, how could they not; being surrounded by fantastic educators and a like-minded parent community."

Louise, Parent

"We are so grateful for the passionate teaching staff who genuinely care about our children's wellbeing. It's such a welcoming school community and the families look out for each other.  Our children are thriving in this nurturing school environment."
